For those who dont know, Im planning a rather large two-year gap to travel the world and do volunteer work for various charities so on so forth, to do this I need a lot of money and being an artist and all, the plan was to sell off art, in some form or another.
The question today is about calendars; if I were to make a calendar of my artwork how would you want it laid out, how big and how much are you willing to pay?
For instance, would you want one with large pictures (A4) and then the calendar under it so that you could then frame the printed pictures once your finished with the calendar? Or maybe larger?
Im thinking if I could sell 1000 calendars, getting a profit of one pound or more on each, then thats £1000+ in the kitty for my travels (In theory)
For a larger calendar with A4 picture prints (for example) as they will be original prints of my work, they would be between £8-10 maybe? Depends on how much the printing of the calendars is to start with.
Point Im trying make is; would you pay more for a calendar where you get frame-able, original prints of my work?
Im looking for a bit of a poll here of how many would be interested because I would loose out if I printed 1000 and didnt sell them all, obviously
Any ideas for animals you would want in the calendar would also be nice, itll be a 2010 calendar btw, hopefully on sale from September onwards
Other ideas were to make actual prints of my work and sell them for £3-4 each and maybe to auction off my original works?
Im also still available for web designing, commissions for pet portraits (on and off) and if you are in my area, freelance photography (Aberdeenshire, UK)
Also, a little side note!
Please spread the word of my ideas, if you know people might be interested do tell and send me the feedback.
Also for those of you that are feeling generous, please post my rambling on your journal, I would really like a broad a range of opinions as possible to see how many I would be likely to sell if printed!
THANK YOU!

I visited your website and your photography is brilliant.
I particularly like the drawings you've done of various animals, and your Chocobo!
